How this site behaves.

Reduced motion

This site is heavily animated, and all of it is optional. With prefers-reduced-motion set to reduce, the smooth scroll never starts, the opening curtain is skipped entirely, the sticky card stack and the province backdrop stop moving, and every element rests in its final, visible state.

Nothing on this site is hidden behind an animation. If the motion layer fails to load, the whole page is still there and still readable.

Keyboard

Every control is reachable in sequence and every focused element shows a visible ring. The province list and the map both update their backdrop on focus as well as on hover, so tabbing through them gives the same information as pointing at them.

A skip link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.

Screen readers

Decorative artwork is hidden from the accessibility tree, the duplicated half of the marquee is marked aria-hidden so its contents are announced once, and both form results are announced through a live region rather than only shown.

Known limitations

The map is a schematic and conveys position visually; the same information is available as a plain list on the provinces page, but the spatial relationship between provinces is not.

Below 1024px the province list drops its backdrop entirely rather than adapting it, which is a simplification rather than an equivalent experience.
